The Met’s Flying Squad and Homicide and Major Crime Command are helping with the investigation.

Whitlock was in jail after being charged with conspiracy to burgle, namely 19 offences of theft from ATMs at various locations in the south-east of England between December 2015 and August 2016.

Detectives warned the public to dial 999 and stay away from him if they spot him and described as a white man of slim build and has the word “Tracy” tattooed on his torso.

The pair broke out of their G Wing cell at Pentonville at 10.40pm on Sunday after stuffing their bunk beds with pillows to convince officers they were asleep - and the alarm wasn’t raised until Monday morning.

They’d cut through bars with a diamond-tipped saw, dropped on to a flat roof and scaled the 25ft perimeter wall using tied-together bedsheets.
