MADAME PRESIDENT

Did Hillary Clinton just fire the starting gun on Michelle Obama’s 2020 presidential bid?

She spoke warmly of the First Lady in her concession speech and said she expected to see the 'highest and hardest glass ceiling' shattered

HILLARY Clinton may have failed at breaking the glass ceiling of becoming the first female president, but it looks like she could be lining up Michelle Obama to smash through it.

Giving voters a glimmer of hope, she spoke highly of the First Lady in her concession speech on Wednesday, and seemed to indicate she might be the one to make history where Clinton had failed.

Speaking to Democrat supporters she said: "To Barack and Michelle Obama, our country owes you an enormous debt of gratitude.

"We thank you for your graceful, determined leadership that has meant so much to so many Americans and people across the world."

Michelle has always made it clear she has no desire to run for the White House, however with Trump now President-Elect it is possible she could reconsider.

When asked if she would consider running in 2020 she said it was not something she would think about.

Speaking at the South by Southwest festival in Texas, she said: "I will not run for president. No, nope, not going to do it."

During her speech Clinton urged little girls and women not to loose faith that the "highest and hardest glass ceiling" would one day be shattered by a woman.

She told them not to lose hope, or stop fighting for what they thought was right: "Now, I know we have still not shattered that highest and hardest glass ceiling, but someday someone will — and hopefully sooner than we might think right now."

Her words were met with applause and cheers from her supporters.

Michelle Obama was a huge supporter of Clinton during her campaign for the White House and also spoke critically of Trump.
