Labour has ambitious plans for Britain’s future – we’ll create jobs and get growth going
BRITISH places we love are being let down.
There is so much promise but there is not enough business investment. I want to unlock this.
Our Green Prosperity Plan will get growth going. It is what business needs and wants.
We will invest in new industries, creating jobs in offshore wind, carbon capture and storage and nuclear power.
And we will upskill jobs in industries that have taken a hit, such as our car industry.
An important test of any economic plan is whether it benefits all parts of the UK.

That is why Labour will make sure our investments also narrow the gap and reduce inequality between different parts of Britain.
We will ask those who want government investment to show how they are going to create good local jobs.
Our plan could support 450,000 new jobs over the decade.
But unlike the Tory failed attempt at levelling up, we’d make sure that includes over 50,000 new jobs each in both the North West and Yorkshire.

Over 30,000 new jobs will be created each in the North East, the East Midlands, the West Midlands and the East of England.
We will take inspiration from the US, where President Joe Biden is rewiring local economies, transforming areas like the rust belt into the Electric Vehicle Belt.
I believe in Britain and am ambitious for our future.
From turning our steel industry green to building new green energy heartlands with offshore and onshore wind farms, I know we can make the places that powered the last industrial revolution power the next.
