Knife-point robbery victims identify crook by his crossed eyes despite wearing mask

Thomas Kay, who 'gets a buzz out of violence', carried out all three attacks in the space of just a few hours

A THUG who carried out three knife-point robberies, including one in a mask, was identified by his crossed eyes.

Thomas Kay, 24, pulled a blade on a tram passenger and ordered: “Get your wallet out. I’m going to count to five.”

He also put a knife to the throat of a minicab driver, saying: “Have you ever been robbed? Give me your money.”

The petrified driver gave him more than £65.

Kay held up a third man in the street and took his mobile.

Judge Philip Parry said: “You show a worrying tendency towards violence and carrying blades in public.”

Kay carried out the attacks in just a few hours in April.

He admitted two robberies, one attempted robbery and three charges of possessing a knife in April. He has eight previous convictions including robberies.

A psychiatrist’s report concluded he “gets a buzz out of violence”.

Kay, of Bury, Gtr Manchester, expressed no remorse for his crimes.

He was jailed for five-and-a-half years at Bolton crown court.
