Cops name man they are hunting after dad, 45, killed in horror hit-and-run as he crossed road

COPS have named a man they are hunting after a dad was killed in a horror hit-and-run as he crossed the road.

Philip Dale, 45, was struck by a car in Bordesley Green, Birmingham on November 1 last year.

West Midlands Police have now appealed for information regarding the whereabouts of 43-year-old Shazad Hussain, who also goes by the name Abid Khan.

He is believed to have left the UK, but the force have named him as a "person of interest".

Two men, aged 42 and 36, were arrested in relation to the crash, but were released on bail as inquiries continue.

Detective Sergeant Paul Hughes said: "Following extensive enquiries and developments in the investigation, I am now in a position to name Shazad as a person of interest that we wish to speak to.

"Shazad, who also goes by the name Abid Khan, is believed to have left the country but that will not stop our search for him.

"I would appeal directly to Shazad to do the right thing and get in touch with us. I would also urge anyone who knows where Shazad is or is in contact with him to get in touch."
