Moment Phillip Schofield’s brother ‘confessed to star that he carried out sex act with schoolboy’ relived in court
PHILLIP Schofield was shocked when his brother Tim confessed to carrying out a sex act with a teenage boy, a court heard yesterday.
Civilian police worker Timothy Schofield, 54, allegedly went to Phil’s house and told him he had a name for the “time” spent with the teenager when they watched porn and performed sex acts together.
Shocked This Morning star Phillip replied: “What the hell is [that] time?
“That should never happen again.”
IT worker Timothy appeared in the dock at Exeter Crown Court yesterday charged with 11 counts of sexual offences with a child which started when the victim was just a teenager.
The alleged offences, carried out between October 2016 and October 2019, include forcing the child to watch pornography and watch him while he “engaged in a sexual activity”.

Opening the case for the prosecution, Robin Shellard told the jurors it was a case about the "obsessive sexual interest of Timothy Schofield and subsequent sexual abuse".
The court heard he confessed part of his behaviour to brother Phil.
He said: “On the 12th of September 2021 he phoned his brother Phillip saying that his head was in a mess and could he come and see him.
“The defendant is seven years younger than Phillip and they had not been particularly close growing up, however in December 2019 the defendant told his brother he was gay.

“According to Phillip the defendant travelled up that day and he was extremely agitated.
“His brother described him as very angry and distressed.
“The defendant also told his brother that he was impotent.
“The defendant then said his brother would hate him for what he was about to say, his brother said that he wouldn’t and then the defendant said he had their time together and they had watched porn and w***** together.
“Phillip Schofield then said ‘what did you just say?’ and the defendant repeated it was last year and just once.
“Phillip said it should never happen again.
“The defendant then started to talk about the boy’s body.
“The defendant said it was 'time' and Phillip said: 'What the hell is time' and was shocked.
“Later the defendant left for home and it was not spoken of again.”
The court heard that Timothy Schofield would make the child watch pornography which was described as “regular sex, some violent" and in some cases extreme.
When cops raided his house they allegedly found images of naked teenage boys and web searches for extreme pornography.
And he became jealous when the teen got a girlfriend and described her as a “f****** nutter.”
The judge, Mrs Justice Johanna Cutts, spoke to the jury to warn them not to be distracted by Phillip Schofield’s celebrity status.
She said of the defendant: “His brother is Phillip Schofield, and he happens to be the well-known television personality.
“I say happens to be as that fact has no relevance at all in this case.
“He is not going to be coming to this court to give evidence, any evidence that he could have given is not in dispute.
“The fact that he is the defendant’s brother changes nothing in this trial, the defendant will be tried in the same fair way as every other defendant.”
Timothy Schofield arrived at Exeter Crown Court wearing a face mask and jacket over his head to avoid being photographed.
Looking scruffy with an open necked shirt, baseball cap and grey trousers he walked freely into the dock of court 1.
