Locals rage after road riddled with pothotles is fixed by local council… but only the bits near Prince Charles’s Highgrove estate
Neighbours see repairs as ‘favouritism’ as 500-yard section of road is smoothed over while the rest remains untouched

A ROAD riddled with potholes has finally been fixed by the local council — but only outside Prince Charles’s estate.
Neighbours have complained for years about the noise and damage caused by the crumbling surface.
But they are furious a 500-yard section of the A433 by Highgrove has been smoothed over while the rest has been untouched.
Antiques dealer Stephen Fitzgerald, 65, who lives near Charles’s pad in Doughton, Gloucs, said: “It’s like a baby’s bum — there isn’t a ripple.” He fumed: “It’s favouritism.”
Fellow local Jeanne Bower-Robinson, 69, said the noise of cars rumbling over potholes was “appalling”, adding: “We get fobbed off. I don’t think the council listen to us.”

The resurfaced stretch runs past two entrances to Highgrove House — with one for royals, although Charles normally comes via helicopter, and the other for visitors.
Highways member Vernon Smith of Gloucestershire County Council said: “We have had no contact with the Highgrove Estate about the A433. This resurfacing work has been planned for two years.”
Buckingham Palace declined to comment.
