Dog owner charged after girl, 6, mauled ‘by pack of pitbulls’ months after man in his 20s was also attacked
A MAN has been charged after a six-year-old girl was mauled by a pack of 17 dogs just months after another alleged attack.
The youngster was set upon by the animals as she played with a pal at around 2.40pm on Sunday in Trafford, Greater Manchester.
The young girl remains in hospital receiving treatment.
Bernard Valentine has now been charged with eight counts of being in charge of a dog dangerously out of control that caused injury.
Six of the charges relate to the horror attack on Sunday, while the other two follow an incident in the same location in December 2020 when a man in his 20s and his dog were injured.
The 36-year-old, from Carrington, is also charged with possession of Class B drugs.
He has been remanded in custody to appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates' Court today.
It is thought the girl had been playing with pals when the gang of pittbulls attacked.
A neighbour who caught the horrifying moment on CCTV said: "I was told the girl's older sister helped to fight off the dogs.
"It was horrendous. My own children could have been attacked out there."
