Mum of fantasist Eleanor Williams has car ‘torched’ after defending daughter for making up fake rape claims

A CAR owned by rape fantasist Ellie Williams’ family has been destroyed in a suspected arson attack.

The £20,000 Range Rover Evoque erupted in flames just seconds after her mother got behind the wheel.

The former Labour councillor told how she was left terrified and fears that vigilantes deliberately torched it after her daughter’s case ripped apart their home town.

Williams, 22, was jailed for eight-and-a-half years for perverting justice when her claims of being groomed by an Asian sex gang and raped by four men were exposed as lies.

Allison, 51, climbed into the Range Rover Evoque around 8.30am on Wednesday.

She immediately spotted smoke and leapt out moments before the six-year-old motor was engulfed in flames.

The terrified mum called 999 and firefighters raced to the scene to extinguish the blaze.

The cause is yet to be established but she fears it was deliberate after a vicious backlash following her daughter’s trial.

Allison, who was not paid for this story, said: “It's terrifying to think someone might want to do me and my family harm.

"That's definitely my fear, that someone did this on purpose to cause me harm.

“I have been told it could have been deliberate and I assume it was torched.

“It’s possible it was an electrical fault and I am hoping that that is the case - I don't like to think there are people out there capable of doing this.”

She has reported the incident to Cumbria Police.

Allison’s daughter hit the headlines in May 2020 when she told in a Facebook post how she had been beaten, abused and trafficked by “evil yet clever” Asian men.

She said they forced her to attend sex parties and posted pictures of horrific injuries to back up her claims.

The post was shared more than 100,000 times but it was later revealed that she inflicted the injuries herself with a hammer.

Williams, of Barrow, Cumbria, also had six mobile phones she used to create fake identities and manipulate Snapchat accounts of men she met on dating sites.

She said local business owner Mohammed Ramzan, 43, groomed her from the age of 12, put her to work in brothels in Amsterdam and sold her at an auction in the Netherlands.

She claimed local lad Jordan Trengove raped her after they met in a nightclub and said she was attacked by Oliver Gardner after a chance meeting outside a railway station.

Mohammed had only ever met her once briefly at a family party. He told Preston crown court during the three-month trial that his life had been made "hell on Earth" by her false allegations.

Jordan had the word "rapist" spray-painted on his house and spent 73 days in prison after being charged as a result of her claims.

Oliver became so traumatised he was sectioned under the Mental Health Act.

All three men tried to take their own lives at one point.

Honorary Recorder of Preston Judge Robert Altham said her allegations were “complete fiction” after a jury found her guilty.

He said: "It is troubling to say the least that she shows no significant signs of remorse.”

The Attorney General’s Office is currently considering a request to increase the sentence because it is unduly lenient.

A spokesman for Cumbria Police said:”Police were called at 8.29am on March 29 following a report from Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service of a vehicle fire in Barrow.

“Nobody was hurt in the fire.

“Officers have liaised with Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service and enquiries are taking place to fully establish the cause of the fire.”
