One dead and two seriously injured in ‘extremely tragic’ horror crash in Bolton

A PERSON had died and two have been seriously injured in an "extremely tragic" horror car crash in Bolton, Greater Manchester.

Emergency services, including two air ambulances, rushed to the scene at around 11.50am on March 30.

The road was cordoned off for hours as the collision was investigated.

Greater Manchester Police confirmed the death and injuries in a statement this morning.

They also stated that no arrests have been made at this time.

A spokesperson for the force appealed for witnesses to come forward with any information regarding the tragic smash.

Sergeant Phillip Collingwood of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: "This was an extremely tragic incident in which someone has lost their life and two others have sustained serious injuries. 

"Our thoughts remain with the families affected who are being supported by specialist officers.

"No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing."
