GAMERS are paying up to five times higher than the original price for the new version of a 30-year-old Nintendo console.

The latest Nintendo Mini Classic is selling for much more than its old £50 price tag on auction site eBay.

The scramble for the piece of retro gaming tech -- which comes complete with 30 classic games like Super Mario Bros -- is leading to sky-high prices.

Demand for Nintendo's latest NES has rocketed but the modern remake sold out within days, prompting online sellers to jack up the price tag.

The revamped version of the 1986 console was put on sale for just £50.

But some gaming fanatics are splashing out upwards of £250.

One cheeky seller was found attempting to flog the much-loved console for a ridiculous £1,450 -- 29 times the retail value.

The 80s-favourite has a roster of classic games including Super Mario, Legend Of Zelda, Final Fantasy and Pac Man.
