Girl, 11, rushed to hospital after being attacked by dog and woman arrested for having animal dangerously out of control

A 11-YEAR-OLD girl was hospitalised after being attacked by a dog with one woman arrested.

Cops and emergency services rushed to the scene in Erith, South East London, following reports of a dog attack just before 2pm on Saturday.

The girl was rushed to hospital after being found with injuries.

Her condition has been assessed as not life-threatening or life-changing.

The dog was contained and removed from the address. Cops have not revealed its breed.

A woman was arrested at the scene for obstructing police and having a dog dangerously out of control.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at approximately 13:40hrs on Saturday, 1 April to reports of a child injured after being attacked by a dog at an address in Byron Drive, Erith.

“Officers, including armed officers, and London Ambulance Service attended. The child – an 11-year-old girl – was taken to hospital.

“Her injuries have been assessed as not life-threatening or life-changing.

“No reports of any other injuries.
