MPs slam Jeremy Corbyn for putting disgraced Labour MP Keith Vaz forward for crime committee despite police probe

JEREMY Corbyn under fire for putting sleazy Keith Vaz forward for an influential Commons committee role while under police investigation.

As revealed by The Sun yesterday, the disgraced MP was handed the plum job by Labour despite being probed by Scotland Yard for allegedly offering to by rent-boys cocaine.

Following our revelation the MP failed to turn up to the first meeting of the Criminal Finance Bill.

Campaigning Tory MP Andrew Bridgen hit out: “Jeremy Corbyn needs to do the right thing and suspend Keith Vaz from the Labour Party while all police inquiries are ongoing.”

“Such a move would stop these potential conflicts of interest arising and restore confidence in parliament.

He went on: “It is absolutely wrong that Labour have allowed this man’s name to go forward for sensitive role scrutinising crime legislation.

“Mr Corbyn said this was a private matter for Mr Vaz, but clearly the Metropolitan Police disagree.”

A spokesman for Mr Vaz said: “Members of Parliament are appointed to various Committees whether they are able to attend depends on their constituency and other Parliamentary commitments.”

This latest outrage comes just days after Scotland Yard launched the formal robe probe in the the

Leicester MP after recordings emerged of him allegedly discussing cocaine with male prostitutes in August.

This latest row comes nearly three months after it was revealed the sleazy 59 year old paid two men for sex at his London flat.

He later stood down as the influential chair of the Home Affairs Select Committee.

But he sparked further uproar by joining the Commons Justice Committee last month, despite the potential clash of interests as the committee scrutinised important prostitution and drugs laws.
