Furious chef tells customer who left scathing TripAdvisor review of ‘worst-ever pate dish’ not to come back to ANY of his restaurants
The diner claimed his starter looked as if a five-year-old had put it on the plate
A DISGRUNTLED diner who left a scathing review of a restaurant on TripAdvisor has been branded "vile" by the owner.
Customer Chris B blasted the presentation of a pate dish, saying it looked "as if a five-year-old had put in on the plate" at Burnt Truffle in the Wirral, Merseyside.
The reviewer also implied the red wine was too expensive priced at more than £20 a bottle and felt like "it had come out of a fridge".
"Lessons to be learnt? Mine? I won't return! For them? Well, simply this - the customer is always right," user Chris B wrote.
The following day, award-winning chef and owner of the Heswall restaurant hit back on the travel forum.
Writing under the name Sticky Walnut - after his first restaurant - he said: "There are two things that I am really pleased about.
“Firstly, Emma and I never have to see you in Burnt Truffle again.
“You were vile!
"Secondly, that I was actually working in the kitchen at Burnt Truffle the evening you dined.
“I was able to support the team whilst they dealt with your onslaught.
Let me know if you do want to come again and I'll serve it in a Martini glass garnished with rocket and sparklers!
"In fact, you sir are the reason I was stood in a queue at a petrol station at 10.05pm that night buying eight cans of Stella whilst questioning the human race!"
In response to the criticism of the pate, he wrote: "Let me know if you do want to come again and I'll serve it in a Martini glass garnished with rocket and sparklers!"
"Have you never seen the quote 'A person who is nice to you but is not nice to the waiter is not a nice person'?!"

Chris B was accused of attempting to humiliate the team at Burnt Truffle as the owner claimed the diner loudly told the whole restaurant the pate was the worst he had ever tasted.
He ended with “We have two other restaurants!
“One is Sticky Walnut in Chester and the other is Hispi in Manchester!
"You said you wouldn’t be returning to Burnt Truffle!
“So just to make absolutely sure we don’t see you at either of the other two, the pate recipe is the same in all three!”
Burnt Truffle opened in July last year after a crowdfunding campaign in the wake of the success of Sticky Walnut.
More than £100,000 was raised in a month with 891 donations.
The restaurant has also received glowing reviews from food critics.
