NOT SO SPECIAL RELATIONSHIP?

Good Morning Britain host revealed he spent 15 minutes chatting to the real estate mogul – while the PM got just 10

THERESA May was handed another snub by Donald Trump today after Piers Morgan revealed he spent more time speaking to the president-elect than she had.

It is the latest blow to the so-called “special relationship”, after Mrs may was only the 10th world leader to speak to Mr Trump after his victory over Hillary Clinton.

The Republican also invited the Irish prime Minister to the White House ahead of her, and he is visiting the Japanese leader Shinzo Abe this week.

But the biggest snub of all is the fact Nigel Farage spent almost an hour with Barack Obama’s successor in a visit to Trump Tower last weekend.

Mr Morgan, who has often bragged about his closeness to the billionaire, tweeted: “Just had a 15-minute conversation with President-elect Donald Trump.

“He was on great form and very excited about the challenges ahead.”

Theresa May is understood to have only had around 10 minutes to speak with the next leader of the free world.

Downing Street said afterwards Mr Trump had told the PM the UK is “very, very special place for me”.

Today it emerged the President-elect made a bizarrely causal open invite to Mrs May to come and visit, unlike the usual formal invitation issued for state visit.

"If you travel to the US you should let me know" he told her, according to a transcript leaked to , which apparently "raised eyebrows" among Whitehall officials.

He also asked the PM to pass on his regards to the Queen at her next audience at Buckingham Palace, revealing his late mother was a big fan of the monarch.
