POKEMON Sun and Moon is almost here after months of speculation.
The Nintendo 3DS game was always going to be a monster hit but the Pokémon Go phenomenon that spread globally over summer has seen the game reach dizzying heights before it's even out.
Nintendo of America say Pokemon Sun and Moon is the most pre-ordered game in Nintendo’s 127 year history.
The recent Special Demo Version has also become Nintendo’s most downloaded demo.
But what is all the hype about? We reveal all.
What is Pokémon Sun and Moon?
The game is essentially Pokémon 7 as it follows on from popular X and Y, which launched on the 3DS in 2013.
Nintendo have added traditional and simplified Chinese alongside other options such as English, Spanish and Italian.
The firm hopes that Pokémon trainers will be able to overcome language barriers and be able to communicate with each other better over the internet.
When is Pokémon Sun and Moon out?
The game is coming out on November 23 but is available for pre-order now.
Pokémon Sun and Moon is only available to play on Nintendo 3DS.
You can however download the demo, which was released on October 18, via the or .
If you download via the eShop it means the games will be available to play as soon as it reaches November 23. You'll need 3.2GB of storage space.
How much is Pokémon Sun and Moon?
It will set you back £39 if you pre-order from Amazon or GAME.
Those wanting something a bit more special can splash out £44 on a Pokémon Sun and Moon Fan Edition, which includes the game inside a special SteelBook case. Pre-ordering will also bag you a exclusive figurine.
You can also pre-order the games from Nintendo, which is offering three different pre-order packages.
Those who buy before January 11 will also get a Munchlax that evolves into Pulverizing Snorlax and comes with a special item called Snorlium Z - giving it two moves it wouldn't otherwise have.
What features does Pokémon Sun and Moon have?
As is customary with its previous games, players will have to choose one of three special Pokemon to be their first partner.
In this version of Pokémon you'll pick between newly discovered Rowlet, Litten, and Popplio.
Two legendary Pokémon have been announced as Solgaleo and Lunala, which will feature in Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon.
A feature called Pokémon Bank will mean that players can transfer any of their Pokémon from the original trio - Red, Blue and Yellow - to Sun and Moon. Pokémon caught in X, Y, Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire will also be transferable.
Battles have been upgraded in the new game - with new powerful moves known as Z-moves added to use once per fight.
Another feature called Battle Royal was also announced. In it, four Trainers can battle at once and each chooses three Pokémon.
They enter one at a time and when it is over when all three Pokémon belonging to one Trainer has fainted. The others are then ranked.
The game also has Poké Finder, which allows players to take photos of their Pokémon - similar to Pokémon Snap on the old versions.
The games are set 12 hours apart - Sun is set on 3DS time while Moon is fictional timing.
Does Pokémon Sun and Moon link to Pokémon Go?
It would appear so.
There are links between the two games that will allow Pokémon Go fans to transfer Pokémon from the Niantic app to Pokemon Sun and Moon as part of an upcoming update.
Pokémon Sun and Moon code suggests that Pokemon will be transferrable from Pokemon Go.
The Pokémon leak backs up previous comments made by Pokémon Sun and Moon game director Junichi Masuda, who said that there would be a link between Pokémon Go and the upcoming 3DS games.
