Businessman found not guilty of groping waitress in Wembley hospitality suite after England match
Stephen Dewsnip, 49, was accused of assaulting the student as she collected glasses in the £8,000-a-year Bobby Moore Room
A MILLIONAIRE has been cleared of fondling a waitress’s bottom in a Wembley hospitality suite after an England match.
Stephen Dewsnip, 49, was accused of groping the student as she collected glasses in the £8,000-a- year Bobby Moore Room.
The Guernsey FC founder had a table for the Euro 2016 qualifier against Switzerland, Harrow crown court heard.
The woman said: “He pulled me towards him and he did fondle my bum.
“I felt I was there a long time, but in reality, minutes.
“I was shaken.”
Explaining why she did not resist, she replied: “I felt unable to protest.
“I was working.”
Prosecutors said Mr Dewsnip’s alleged behaviour was deliberate, “fuelled by alcohol” and witnessed by the woman’s manager on September 8 last year.
But the businessman, of Guernsey, told Harrow crown court the suggestion he fondled a waitress was "totally beyond belief".
And a jury took took 30 minutes to reach a unanimous not guilty verdict on one count of sexual assault on November 18.
