British Airways pilot ‘sexually assaulted’ stewardess during boozy night out between flights

A BRITISH Airways pilot was accused of sexually assaulting one of his stewardesses on a boozy night out between flights.

The veteran flyer was detained and questioned after she reported him to cops in the Far East.

Other crew members on the flight — which departed from London last week — were asked to help with official inquiries.

The alleged incident happened when the stewardess went out with colleagues.

Another flight team was sent out to crew the plane on the service back to the UK.

A crisis team of BA security executives immediately flew to the Far East to begin their own investigation.

The accused pilot has been suspended pending the outcome of the external and internal probes.

His accuser is being ­supported by BA and has been stood down from flying.

The stewardess and pilot — who still faces a police probe — were flown home as passengers on separate BA planes.

A source said: “This serious episode has disturbed many within BA.

“It’s highly irregular for a professional and experienced pilot to be involved in police matters between flights.

"Bosses had sought to keep this matter under wraps.”

The Sun told last month how a BA stewardess said she was raped in Barbados after a night out between flights.

In January, airline bosses probed claims that an off-duty senior crew member was so sozzled he ran naked round the buffet at a Maldives resort.

Yesterday BA said: “As there is an ongoing police investigation it would be inappropriate to comment.”
