CASPIN' FOR A DRINK

I came face to face with Casper the Ghost in my pint – and ordered six more to see if he’d materialise again

A DRINKER was spooked when Casper the Ghost materialised in his pint.

Paul Bowyer, 53, created the frothy phantom by chance after mixing two beers.

He tipped Newcastle Brown ale into a half of Budweiser and was so impressed he ordered six more to try to repeat the trick.

Dad-of-two Paul, a glazier, said: “I was gobsmacked. It looked exactly like Casper.

“I stared at it for a few minutes then just downed it.

“I didn’t feel guilty.

“It was a lovely pint.

“I tried to recreate it but it just didn’t happen.

“Eventually I gave up because I was late collecting the takeaway.”

Paul was with brother-in-law Martin Ridgway, 54, at the Colley Rowe Inn in Romford, East London.

Casper the Friendly Ghost debuted in cartoons in 1945.

He featured in a 1995 film and most recently in Casper’s Scare School.
