She had earlier sent him a text saying "you are not going to stab and kill me?” when he messaged asking her to meet.

The girl, who played dead to escape Tye, was eventually found by a dog walker four hours after the horror in Benhall, Suffolk.

She survived by "pure chance" and has limited movement below the stab wounds in the back of her neck.

Tye was jailed for life with a minimum of 12-and-a-half years at Ipswich Crown Court after he admitted attempted murder.

A judge lifted an anonymity order in place due to his age because the crime was so severe.

In a video statement recorded for the court, the girl said: “Often what happened does not feel real. Sometimes it feels like I am in a movie.

“Sometimes it feels like a camera will fall out of the sky and I will be in a reality TV show.

“I was so scared. I did not want him to win. If I had died he would have won.”

His girlfriend broke up with him when she found out about the pair were in contact days before the attack.

On October 2, Tye messaged his ex, saying: “I would kill to get you back."

He then text the victim and arranged to meet her at night in a park near her home.

Once there, the pair chatted for an hour and kissed before Tye plunged the blade into the back of her neck seven times and took her phone.

She only managed to survive by pretending she was dead and did not scream until she saw his car drive away.

The girl lay unable to move until she was found by a passer-by, who called an ambulance.

Police later discovered Tye had researched which parts of the body are the worst to be stabbed in.

He also searched how long it takes someone to die of a knife wound in the weeks leading up to the attack.

She said her daughter poignantly branded herself the “unluckiest girl in the world" after the attack.

While her dad said he could not understand why anyone would want to hurt his “independent, strong minded” daughter in such a “malicious and sadistic” way.
