A SICK killer who tortured his victim and refused to reveal the location of her body has been released from prison to attend his mum's funeral.
Colin Coats tortured victim Lynda Spence for 13 days and has refused to tell her heartbroken mother what he and associate Philip Wade did with her body.
On Friday Coats was released from prison under guard to attend his mum's funeral, the reported.
The 46-year-old killer, who is serving a 33-year minimum sentence, arrived at Glasgow crematorium in a G4S van with a marked police car behind it.
He was taken inside, handcuffed, to bid farewell to his 80-year-old mother.

Ms Spence, 27, died after a terrifying 13-day ordeal during which her knees were smashed with a golf club, her thumb was hacked off, the tip of her finger sliced off and her hands burnt with an iron.
Former cross dresser Coats and associate Wade abducted Ms Spence in Glasgow in April 14 2011.
During his trial Coats accused her of cheating him out of £85,000.
A source told the Daily Record: “It’s terrible that Lynda’s parents can’t bury their daughter. They weren’t able to lay her to rest.
“But Coats can get out of jail to pay his respects to his mother. I think it’s a disgrace.”
Ms Spence's family declined to comment on Coats' release, the Daily Record reported.
The prison service said: “We do not comment on individual prisoners.
“Relatives who meet the criteria for attending funerals are defined in the Prison Rules and Directions to the Rules. Ultimately, the decision of attendance is at the Governor’s discretion.”
