BRITS will sizzle in baking highs of 19C this week - but storm clouds are gathering just days before the Coronation.

Tuesday is expected to be largely cloudy and dry for most of us, with most areas forecast to hit temperatures in the mid teens.

But the North West of England and Southern Scotland will see rain from early this morning right up to midnight.

Later this afternoon a few brighter spells may break through the cloud as the weather remains mild for the rest of the UK, according to the Met Office.

Meanwhile today will see highs of 16C in Bristol, 15C in Manchester, 14C in London, 14C in Belfast and 11C in Newcastle.

Moving into this evening and overnight skies across much of England and Wales will clear allowing for a dry start to Wednesday.

But Scotland and Northern Ireland will be swamped by lingering showers pushing in off the Atlantic, these are expected to fall all day in the West, Central and North East areas of Scotland.

Despite the damp outlook for Scotland, Wednesday will be fine, dry and breezy for many.

Most of the South, East and Central areas of England are forecast to enjoy sunshine and highs of 16C across much of the South.

North Western areas may see a smatter of rainfall around midday on Wednesday.

Meanwhile patches of rain are expected to push in off the West Coast of Scotland, making their way down to Edinburgh and possibly to the borders.

Tomorrow will see highs of 16C in Cardiff, 15C in Manchester and 14C in London.

Thursday will begin dry for many but a large band of rain sweeping in off the Atlantic will drench the South West from the morning.

This wet weather front will pushing up into Wales and Ireland over the course of the day before arriving across Yorkshire and the North West late on Thursday.

The rest of the country will remain dry with while Guildford, in Surrey, is expected to hit nearly 19C while London will bake in 18C sunshine.

Storms

Friday morning will see yet more heavy rain arrive from the Atlantic as it pushes across the whole of the UK throughout the day.

Despite the torrential rainfall, most Brits will enjoy highs of up to 16C.

And the rain will clear for many of us by late evening on Friday ahead of King Charles' Coronation on Saturday.

London will be dry on Saturday meaning the Coronation should hopefully dodge the torrential rain falling in the South West in the morning.

By late evening and overnight this rainfall will have pushed up through Central, Eastern and Northern England, as well as Wales and Scotland.

Saturday will see highs of 16C in London, 15C in Manchester, 14C in Cardiff, 13C in Scarborough and 13C in Plymouth.
