Man dies after being brutally stabbed outside London church

The victim aged in his 30s died in hospital as police launch a murder probe

A MURDER investigation has been launched after a man was stabbed to death outside a church in South London.

The victim, aged in his 30s, was attacked this morning in Camberwell Church Street, Camberwell.

Cops were called to reports of an assault at around 9.15am near the junction with Wilson Road.

The man died from his injuries in hospital after the stabbing close to St Giles Church

A spokesman for Met Police said: "Officers attended and found a man - believed to be aged in his thirties - suffering from stab injuries.

"He was taken by London Ambulance Service to a south London hospital where he later died.

"(His) next of kin have been informed and a post-mortem examination will be arranged in due course."

Police said the probe continues but no arrests have been made so far.

Cordons remain in place around the scene.

Detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command are investigating.
