Charles had reportedly not allowed his disgraced brother to wear his Garter robes for today's event but Andrew turned out wearing his regalia.

The Duke was driven down The Mall in a state car towards Westminster Abbey, with members of the crowd in a grandstand in front of Buckingham Palace booing as he went past.

Prince Andrew, 63, and squabbling California-based Prince Harry, 38, were among royals who took a back-seat as they arrived.

Neither had a ceremonial role and did not appear in the carriages or processions.

Despite the snub, Harry and Andrew sat inside the Abbey with other members of the Royal Family.

Harry was spotted sitting in the third row next to Princess Eugenie's husband Jack Brooksbank.

However, Prince Harry was spotted wearing a suit as he arrived for the ceremony.

Harry - wearing a dark morning suit and medals - attended the coronation without wife Meghan, 41, or children Archie, who turned four today, and Lilibet, one.

It is understood the Duke of Sussex wore what he was asked to wear. However, Harry is a Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order (KCVO) after being made so by the late Queen in 2015. This means he would be entitled to wear the order's vivid blue mantle.

On his other side was Princess Alexandra, 86 — Queen Elizabeth’s cousin.

The Duke of York, who was also in the third row, was spotted laughing heartily as he left the ceremony.

Last June, Andrew did not appear alongside senior members of the family at the annual Order of the Garter ceremony at Windsor Castle despite being a Knight of the Garter.

Andrew was engulfed in a sex scandal with Virginia Roberts that rocked the royal family.

In 2019, Virginia has claimed that she had sex with Prince Andrew in a toilet when she was 17, after a night where he had allegedly been plying her with vodka in a posh London club.

The royal has vehemently denied the accusations against him, branding them "false" and "without foundation".

On February 15, 2022, it was announced that Prince Andrew settled the lawsuit - sparing him a humiliating court battle.

Charles waved to thousands of cheering royal fans today as he was driven into Buckingham Palace before his landmark crowning.

His Majesty was joined by his family and world leaders at Westminster Abbey as he pledged his life to the country.

The monarch made the solemn oath alongside Queen Camilla in a service attended by world leaders, celebs and royals.

Following the ceremony, the coronation procession at 1pm kicked off the celebrations in incredible style.

In scenes similar to his mother's coronation, Charles and Camilla are making the journey back to Buckingham Palace in the 260-year-old Gold State Coach.

There will be a chance to glimpse the royals again at around 2.30pm when they appear in the balcony for a flypast.

It is not yet clear which members of the family are taking part but the Palace has already confirmed Harry and Prince Andrew will have no formal role in the coronation.
