Apple vows to replace batteries in iPhones hit by ‘unexpected shutdown issues’
Tech giants says it will fit new batteries in faulty mobile phones for FREE
APPLE has promised to fix an issue which causes one model of the iPhone to unexpectedly shut down.
It has offered to replace batteries in the iPhone 6s which occasionally go wrong and cause "unexpected shutdown issues".
People whose phones have dodgy batteries should not worry unduly, because they are not likely to burst into flames like Samsung's famously fire-prone smartphone.
: "Apple has determined that a very small number of iPhone 6s devices may unexpectedly shut down.
"This is not a safety issue and only affects devices within a limited serial number range that were manufactured between September and October 2015."
Apple will replace batteries for up to three years after the original date of purchase."
