BRITISH author Martin Amis has died after losing his battle with cancer.
The 73-year-old novelist reportedly died of oesophageal cancer on Friday at his home in Lake Worth, Florida.
Amis is best known for his books Money: A Suicide Note, London Fields and The Information.
He was also one of the most celebrated writers who defined the British literary scene in the 1980's.
Isabel Fonseca, his wife, confirmed the cause of death was oesophageal cancer.
The esteemed Booker Prizes paid tribute to the literary giant on Twitter.

The post read: "We are saddened to hear that Martin Amis, one of the most acclaimed and discussed novelists of the past 50 years, has died.
"Our thoughts are with his family and friends."
Amis was born in 1949 in Oxford and was educated at schools in the UK and abroad.
He eventually studied at Exeter College, Oxford, where he graduated with first-class honours in English.
