Nine-month-old baby suffers serious injuries after being mauled by dog in terrifying attack in Aldingbourne
A BABY has suffered serious injuries after being mauled by an out-of-control dog in West Sussex.
Chaos erupted on Thursday when the hound savaged the infant inside a home in Aldingbourne, Chichester.
Emergency services scrambled to the address in Lime Avenue at around 2pm where they discovered the baby with serious injuries.
The nine-month old was rushed to hospital but their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
It is unclear what breed the dog was but cops said they had seized it.
A Sussex Police spokesperson said: A spokesman for Sussex Police said: “The baby suffered serious injuries, not believed to be life-threatening, and was taken to hospital.
“Officers have seized the dog, and an investigation into the circumstances of the incident is underway.”
The attack is the latest in a wave of dog attacks currently sweeping the UK.
