Emergency crews swarmed to the residential street after the alarm was raised.

Sadly, Kayden was found dead alongside the body of his 38-year-old father, named locally as Steven Frank, who killed his son before taking his own life.

Police confirmed his death is being treated as murder following the post-mortem.

And they are not treating his dad's death as suspicious.

Heartbreaking tributes have been left outside the flat where Kayden was found.

Six bouquets of flowers have been laid on the pavement at the scene.

Some stuffed animals and teddy bears were spotted lying near the main door of the flats.

A small candle was also placed along with the tributes.

It comes after the nursery Kayden attended said he will be remembered as a "lovely boy" with an "amazing sense of humour".

Pamela McLachlan, head of Douglas Street Early Learning and Childcare Centre, said: "We are all devastated at the news of Kayden’s death.

“He was a lovely boy endowed with an amazing sense of humour, always smiling, singing and dancing.

“He was the best at giving cuddles, with a big loving heart. He also loved jumping in puddles at our forest kindergarten and baking scones.

“Kayden will be sadly missed by his friends and all our staff. Our thoughts go to all his family and friends.”

Detective chief inspector Christopher Thomson, of the Major Investigation Team, said: “Our thoughts are with Kayden’s family and friends, along with everyone affected by this tragedy.

“We are providing his family with specialist support at this incredibly difficult time and officers are continuing enquiries to try and get some answers for them.

“Kayden’s family have requested that their privacy is respected at this time.”
