YouTube "creators" including interviewer Caspar Lee, madcap inventor Colin Furze and makeup vlogger Kaushal Beauty appear in the image, which was taken by award-winning "digital storyteller" Jim Fiscus.
The shoot is part of a campaign called #MadeForYou which has seen the YouTube creators' faces appears on billboards across the capital.
Fiscus said: “Being involved in this project has been an exciting opportunity to explore this type of technology. The stars of today are more unique and culturally diverse than ever.
"There seemed nowhere more fitting for this to take place than at the National Portrait Gallery as today’s new wave of celebrities meet against the backdrop of some of the most famous faces in British culture.”
