Junior doctors will strike for three days in June & threaten summer of misery
JUNIOR doctors will strike again for three days in June and have threatened a summer of misery after pay talks broke down.
The British Medical Association has snubbed a five per cent pay offer - which was accepted by other NHS staff - and said negotiations are now “unproductive”.
A Department of Health source said three weeks of talks were constructive but the union refused to budge from demands for a 35 per cent salary boost.
Members’ next strike will run from 7am on Wednesday, June 14, to 7am on Saturday, June 17, and see thousands more Brits hit by cancellations.
Around 30,000 docs downed tools in the last walkout in April, crippling hospitals.
Leaders Dr Rob Laurenson and Dr Vivek Trivedi, said: “If the Government doesn’t change their position, we will strike throughout the summer.
