TWO more teenagers are being quizzed on suspicion of attempted murder today after a plain clothes cop was ambushed in an alley by a gang of three boys and a girl and stabbed three times.

The officer in his 40s  remains in hospital with serious injuries after the knife horror during an undercover operation in East London on November 22.

The officer, aged in his 40s, works for Scotland Yard's Specialist Crime and Operations Unit and was taking part in "a pre-planned operation" when he was knifed near the Bow Bells pub.

The alleyway, which backs onto a primary school, is a known drug dealing hotspot.

Two 16-year-old boys handed themselves into an east London police station today and were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

A 20-year-old man was arrested in Bedfordshire on Tuesday on suspicion of assisting an offender and has been bailed until mid-January.

Andrew Beadie, 20, of Claremont Road, Basildon, and Janine Morris, 24, of Rainhill Way, Bow, were both charged with attempted murder and two counts of affray on Saturday.

Morris has also been charged with assisting an offender.

A 17-year-old boy was arrested on the day of the incident on suspicion of attempted murder and bailed until a date in January.

Temporary Deputy Assistant Commissioner Richard Martin has preciously said“Fortunately, the officer is recovering well in hospital, as his injuries could have been a lot worse.

“I’d like to appeal for any information or witnesses to the attack that took place.

"If you saw or heard anything that may help us catch the people responsible then please get in touch.”

Detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command are investigating.
