Police ‘ignoring evidence’ in Tupac shooting after self-confessed ‘murder accomplice’ makes bombshell new claim

POLICE are ignoring potential new evidence from the last surviving gang member involved in the murder of Tupac Shakur, it has been claimed.

Former Crips gangster Keefe D - who has previously confessed to his role in the shooting of Tupac - has made a bombshell new claim in which he alleges that FBI agents told him that a $1million fee for the iconic rapper's assassination was paid by another famous hip hop star, then stolen by a middleman.

Keefe claims in a newly released interview clip that FBI agents and the US attorney’s officers told him that a gangster named Eric Von Zip - known as "Zip" - stole the million bucks he and his crew of Southside Crips were allegedly owed for hunting down Tupac in Las Vegas in September 1996.

Now, a source close to the investigation said that despite the latest admission from Keefe, detectives are not following up with FBI agents and they will not be bringing in Keefe for questioning or even an informal interview in the future.

Keefe, who has previously claimed he was in the car when his nephew Orlando Anderson shot Tupac, made his latest comments in a YouTube interview with .

Asked about a rumor in gang circles that after Tupac got killed, a world-famous rapper gave Zip $1million to pass on for the hit but he kept it, Keefe D told the interviewer that “the Feds said that too.”

Keefe added: “FBI said Zip is a dirty mother f***er. Everybody crossed you. Even lawyers and your friends, everybody, he crossed your a**, it is just you do not know it. Even dudes he rode with in the cars every day.”

During the interview with Vlad, Keefe said: “He never ripped me off.”

The interviewer then countered: "Didn’t he technically? If he kept the money?”

Keefe reacted: “That’s true. If that’s what happened. They sure said it. If that is what happened, the FBI said that. The US attorneys - all of them - said that. They said he was a piece of s***.

"I didn’t even know he got the money, but they said he got it.”

A source told The U.S. Sun that Las Vegas Metro Police detectives had been contacted by several people who hoped for a re-examination of the case with Keefe’s new claims.

But nothing has moved and the self-confessed gang member has not been brought in for formal questioning.

The source confirmed: “It is accepted behind closed doors how Tupac was murdered and by whom.

"And doing anything with Keefe’s statements would mean Metro spending resources and time, which is not seen as worthwhile by the criminal enforcement chiefs in town for a case 25 years old.

"Even the FBI files are tricky too, because how long could it take to probe many of those leads?

“Sure, if they had a bulletproof case against Keefe or any associates he was linked to the murder, they would have gone after him. But let’s not forget he was not even the shooter.

“Talking and playing up to media in interviews does not hold the same weight as on-the-stand testimony.”

The U.S. Sun sent a link to Keefe D's new interview to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and asked for comment on the latest claims.

They responded by saying: "The investigation into the murder of Tupac Shakur is still an open homicide investigation.

"Thank you for the information. We have no further comment on the status of this investigation."

Filmmaker and investigative producer Mike Dorsey, who investigated the Tupac death for almost a decade, is frustrated by the police inaction.

In December 2020, Dorsey met with detectives to present his entire research, including an eyewitness statement that Tupac was gunned down by Compton gang member Anderson.

Dorsey, who worked on the acclaimed shows Unsolved: The Murders of Tupac and the Notorious B.I.G and Murder Rap, told The U.S. Sun: “Keefe is telling the whole world repeatedly his crew did this.

"I cannot imagine with this much evidence that any other unsolved murder case in Las Vegas would go ignored.

“Keefe allegedly lives in the police’s back yard too in the Vegas area and it seems like he does feel untouchable

“If this was any other murder case in Las Vegas, they would have actually closed it. They do not have to prosecute Keefe.

"It could be closed as 'cleared/other' classification by Metro.

"Effectively that means a prosecution is not possible as the trigger man is dead and so the case would be closed.”

Keefe has written a book and given interviews detailing how he saw his nephew Anderson kill Tupac and injure label boss Suge Knight in a hail of bullets.

In 2021, Keefe spelled out the entire evening of the murder, including hiding the murder weapon, to YouTube channel .

Last year, Metro homicide detectives contacted Keefe D, but no update on the open case took place.
