PK challenges see influencers competing with each other in a bid to win rewards and gifts from their followers.
The one who loses the bottle is bound to receive a punishment- in this case drinking Baijiu.
Zhao said: "I don’t know how much he had consumed before I tuned in. But in the latter part of the video, I saw him finish three bottles before starting on a fourth.
"The PK games ended at around 1 a.m. and by 1 p.m., (when his family found him) he was gone."
Zhao described his friend as a "decent and straightforward" person, who regularly shared clips of himself taking part in similar challenges involving alcohol.
Another live streamer called Grandpa Ming clarified the details surrounding his friend's death.
He is quoted as saying by the : "He played four rounds of PK in total. He (drank) one in the first round.
"He drank two plus three more Red Bulls energy drink during the second round.
"In the third round, he didn't lose. In the fourth round, he (drank) four which makes it a total of seven (baijiu) and three Red Bull."
