Paedophile rapist hanged himself just four months into his sentence after inmates took out ‘contracts’ to attack him
James King, 31, was jailed in September 2015 after filming himself raping a three-month-old baby
ONE of Britain's most evil paedophiles - who was part of a gang that raped drugged babies - committed suicide after inmates took out "contracts" to hurt him, it has been revealed.
Vile James King, 31, was jailed in September 2015 for 24 years after filming himself raping a three month-old baby.
Prisoner John Denham told an inquest that fellow inmates at HMP Bristol quickly took out contracts on King to burn him or give him a "black eye or two".
King's mother, Deborah Wyatt, added a fellow gang member had been 'sugared' - burned with sugar-filled water - in an attack the paedophile feared was intended for him.
Just four months into his sentence he was found hanging in his cell and died two days later in hospital on January 17.
King, who changed his name from Robin Hollyson, was part of a gang which a judge described as 'evil beyond rational understanding'.
Judge Julian Lambert said the case was one of the most horrific on record.
He said: "In the worst nightmare, from the very deepest recesses of the mind, at the darkest hour of the night, few can have imagined the terrifying depravity which you men admit."
A four-day inquest before a jury at Flax Bourton, near Bristol, heard how King had anxiety and depression which got worse around the time of his sentencing.
He had tried to kill himself before entering prison and was placed on suicide watch three times.
His mother said she last saw him shortly after Christmas and was concerned for his safety.

She said: "During that visit James informed us of an incident in which a fellow prisoner had been sugared. That incident involved one of his co-defendants, Matthew.
"James suggested to us that the attack on Matthew was intended for him. I believe he was concerned and I believe he was told about the attack by another prisoner."
In a statement to police, inmate Denham said people had taken contracts out on Mr King inside prison to hurt him.
He also said King may have been upset on the day of his death because he received a letter from an old friend who no longer wanted contact with him.
Prison workers were called to King's cell around 9.20pm on January 15 after his cellmate sounded the call button.
Operational support worker Francesca Sage was the first to arrive but she did not open the cell door fearing it was a staged attack.
Within ten minutes she was joined by three other prison workers and two nurses who performed CPR on King.
He was taken to Southmead Hospital but died two days later.
Prison officer Mike Simmonds said there was "a lot of suspicion" because his cellmate Cona Ellis was found covered in blood and wearing King's watch.
But when forensic officers examined the cell and found two suicide notes police decided there was "no foul play", it was said.
Pathologist Amanda Jeffery said King died as a result of lack of oxygen to the brain caused by hanging.
After more than four hours of deliberation the jury of ten people returned a conclusion of suicide.
King, originally from Luton, had admitted raping a baby and filming himself doing it before and sending a video of the abuse to other paedophiles.
