Paedophile rapist hanged himself just four months into his sentence after inmates took out ‘contracts’ to attack him
James King, 31, was jailed in September 2015 after filming himself raping a three-month-old baby
ONE of Britain's most evil paedophiles - who was part of a gang that raped drugged babies - committed suicide after inmates took out "contracts" to hurt him, it has been revealed.
Vile James King, 31, was jailed in September 2015 for 24 years after filming himself raping a three month-old baby.
Prisoner John Denham told an inquest that fellow inmates at HMP Bristol quickly took out contracts on King to burn him or give him a "black eye or two".
King's mother, Deborah Wyatt, added a fellow gang member had been 'sugared' - burned with sugar-filled water - in an attack the paedophile feared was intended for him.
Just four months into his sentence he was found hanging in his cell and died two days later in hospital on January 17.
King, who changed his name from Robin Hollyson, was part of a gang which a judge described as 'evil beyond rational understanding'.
Judge Julian Lambert said the case was one of the most horrific on record.
He said: "In the worst nightmare, from the very deepest recesses of the mind, at the darkest hour of the night, few can have imagined the terrifying depravity which you men admit."
A four-day inquest before a jury at Flax Bourton, near Bristol, heard how King had anxiety and depression which got worse around the time of his sentencing.
He had tried to kill himself before entering prison and was placed on suicide watch three times.
His mother said she last saw him shortly after Christmas and was concerned for his safety.
She said: "During that visit James informed us of an incident in which a fellow prisoner had been sugared. That incident involved one of his co-defendants, Matthew.
"James suggested to us that the attack on Matthew was intended for him. I believe he was concerned and I believe he was told about the attack by another prisoner."
