‘Killer’ nurse Lucy Letby denies having crush on doctor she worked with
A NURSE accused of killing seven babies has denied having a crush on a doctor she worked with.
Lucy Letby also claimed she had no idea what her best pal meant when she teased her in a text that he would like her to “go commando”.
The 33-year-old was yesterday cross-examined over a series of WhatsApps she exchanged with her nursing colleague on the neonatal unit at the Countess of Chester Hospital, Cheshire.
Nick Johnson KC, prosecuting, put it to Letby that her friend knew she was “sweet” on the registrar.
After a long pause, Letby said: “There was nothing between me and the doctor.”
Asked whether she had a crush on him, Letby replied: “No.”

In another text exchange, her pal suggested the doctor would like her to “go commando”.
Letby responded with four laughing emojis.
But when she denied in court knowing what it meant, Mr Johnson retorted: “Is it a reference to the Royal Marines?”
Letby, of Hereford, denies killing seven babies and trying to kill ten others.
