Tony Blair’s closest allies attend private meeting with top Remain backers at one of London’s most exclusive restaurants as Alastair Campbell urged the powerful guests to ‘fight back’ on Brexit
Former PM's spin-doctor joined Labour grandee Peter Mandelson to wine and dine the powerful figures

TONY Blair’s closest allies were snapped at a private meeting with top Remain backers at one of London’s most exclusive restaurants.
The Sun can reveal former Blair spin-doctor Alastair Campbell urged the powerful guests that they must “fight back” on Brexit at a plush dinner at West London’s River Cafe on Wednesday evening.
He joined Labour grandee Peter Mandelson to wine and dine powerful figures who had fought against Britain leaving the EU such as ex-Mi6 boss Sir John Sawers.
The lavish dinner came the evening before the former Labour PM claimed Brexit could still be "stopped".
A source said Mr Campbell urged the diners to “fight back” against Britain’s exit from the EU.
He also wrote on Monday: “Part of me yearns for the losers to show more fight.”
The meeting came about after billionaire donors chipped in for dinner with the pair at a big Remain campaign fundraiser before June's referendum.
