Blundell’s School: Three including two students seriously hurt as boy, 16, arrested for ‘GBH’ over 1am ‘attack’
TWO students have been rushed to hospital after a 1am 'attack' at a £41k private school - with a 16-year-old boy arrested.
Two pupils and one other person, believed to be a staff member, were injured at Blundell's School, with police rushing to the boarding houses in Tiverton, Devon overnight.
A 16-year-old boy from Tiverton has been arrested on suspicion of three counts of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
It was reported that three people including two students had been assaulted and had suffered multiple serious injuries.
Headmaster Bart Wielenga said that there will be a police presence around the Petergate boarding house for "some time".
The incident is being investigated with police, with parents and pupils warned not to speculate on social media.
There is no ongoing threat or concern to pupils.
Blundell's School, which charges £41,325 in annual fees for boarders, has declined to comment.
I'm a Celeb and Made in Chelsea star Georgia Toffolo was a pupil at the school, and Love Island's Hugo Hammond taught there.
Devon and Cornwall police were called at around 1am on Friday June 9 to a building on the site the school following reports of a serious assault.

Superintendent Antony Hart, Local Policing Commander said: “This is a very traumatic incident for those involved and the wider school community and we will continue to work closely with the school, providing support to those involved.
“At this time it is understood that all parties involved are linked to the school.
"I am keen to reassure the community that there is no wider risk and we are not seeking anyone else in relation to this matter.
“Throughout the day we will continue with searches and enquiries in the vicinity of the school while we are in the early stage of our investigation.”
The South Western Ambulance NHS Foundation Trust said: “We were called at 00.57hrs on Friday June 9 to an incident in the Tiverton area.
"We sent three double-crewed land ambulances, an air ambulance, a rapid response vehicle and hazardous area response teams.
"Three individuals were conveyed by land ambulance to hospital.”
MP for Tiverton and Honiton Richard Foord said: "My thoughts are with the families and friends of the pupils involved.
"I think we should remember that Tiverton and Devon more broadly are safe places.
"Devon is one of the safest places to live in the country.
"Devon and Cornwall Police have been keen to reassure people and are stressing that this is an isolated incident.
"That is of great reassurance to me and should be for the community too."

Local police and crime commissioner Alison Hernandez said: "Incidents of this nature are always shocking, but when they take place in a school setting they are particularly distressing and my thoughts are with everyone involved.
"As commissioner of victim services I am working with our strategic delivery partner Victim Support to be at the school to support anyone who witnessed or has been affected by these events."
