THE SUN SAYS

Join the Sun in helping brave children in need this festive season by donating to our Smiles at Christmas campaign

Money raised in our appeal will be split between four charities which support kids from all walks of life, from cancer sufferers to those fleeing ISIS

THERE are no more generous people in the world than Sun readers.

We know that we only have to ask and you’ll make this a Christmas to remember for our four Smiles At Christmas charities.

The children of the brave heroes who have died serving our Armed Forces deserve something special. Scotty’s Little Soldiers gives them that.

With your generosity, they’ll be able to help even more children.

Few of us are untouched by cancer in our family. When the victim is a kid, it’s still more traumatic.

Children With Cancer works towards personalised treatment for every one of those diagnosed. We’re proud to help them.

Our third charity, Amar, performs wonders helping the 3.4million people fleeing Islamic State in Iraq.

We can help Amar bring some humanity back into these devastated lives.

Finally, Women’s Aid. Two women a week are killed by a partner or ex. The work of Women’s Aid is vital to protect and support abused women and their kids — and they desperately need our money.

There’s no such thing as too small a donation. And The Sun will make sure that your money and toys get to all four charities.

Please join us in thinking of those who won’t otherwise have the Christmas cheer we often take for granted.

Monster mush

THERE has been no more nauseating spectacle this year than the glowing tributes paid to Fidel Castro.

It’s unsurprising that Jeremy Corbyn and his fellow loony Lefties have droned on about their communist hero.

But world figures such as US President Barack Obama, Canadian PM Justin Trudeau and the Irish President Michael Higgins should know better.

Fidel Castro was no hero, he was a monster who imprisoned 100,000 Cubans

They don’t have the excuse of poor Prince Harry, awkwardly roped into a Caribbean leader’s tribute.

Instead, they have queued up to praise a man who imprisoned 100,000 Cubans — including children — in labour camps and executed another 16,000. More than 30,000 died trying to escape his regime.

He kept Cuba in extreme poverty with his communist ideology. And he wanted to wipe out capitalism with nuclear bombs, urging the Soviet Union to attack the US.

He was no hero. He was a monster.

Ed’s you lose

THE Strictly judges have finally got their way and engineered Ed Balls’ demise.

But we’ve enjoyed watching the transformation of a politician we loved to hate into a dancer — to use the word in its loosest sense — we just love to love.

The lesson is clear to any MPs out there feeling unloved. Pop on the sequins, start jiving – oh, and, first of all lose your seat.
