THIS is the shocking moment a woman is left screaming in agony after she is lashed in public - just for being friends with a man.
The unfortunate woman is the latest in a growing number of people to be publicly flogged for breaking an Indonesian province's strict Islamic laws.
She was lashed with a rattan cane by a creepy looking man wearing long robes and a hood, with just slits for the eyes.
Her crime was being too friendly to a man who was not her husband.
People can face floggings for a range of offences -- from gambling, to drinking alcohol, to gay sex.
Meanwhile a cheering crowd at a mosque in the provincial capital Banda Aceh appear find the sadistic spectacle entertaining.
In a separate flogging, two university students, both only 19-years-old, received 100 lashes of the cane after they confessed to sex outside marriage.
A man found guilty of sex outside marriage was flogged 22 times although his partner, who is two-months pregnant.
The expecting mum is still waiting to find out if she will face trial at an Islamic court and be flogged.
Aceh, on Sumatra island, began implementing sharia law after being granted special autonomy in 2001, an attempt by the central government in Jakarta to quell a long-running separatist insurgency.
Islamic laws have been strengthened since the province struck a peace deal with Jakarta in 2005, and there has been a particular increase in the number of women being caned in recent times.
As reported, in October a group of young women have been caned in Aceh for also getting too close to their own boyfriends.
Harrowing images show the women screaming in pain as they were caned in front of a jeering crowd for breaking strict Islamic laws.
On that occasion women were among 13 people – seven men and six women aged between 21 and 30 – who were caned on Monday at a mosque in the provincial capital Banda Aceh, as a baying crowd cheered the spectacle.
