HMP Long Lartin prisoners list: From Ian Watkins to Charlie Kray – who has been locked up in the Worcestershire prison?
THERE are many prisons in the UK that have built fearsome reputations over the decades.
HMP Long Lartin is just one example of such a prison, housing some of the most dangerous criminals in England and Wales.
Who are the prisoners at Long Lartin?
HMP Long Lartin is a category A prison located in South Littleton, Worcestershire.
The prison opened in 1971 and is home to some of the worst criminals in Britain.
The prison is for men and can house over 600 inmates in single rooms.
There are six residential units and a detainee unit.

Each wing has rooms with a TV, table tennis and pool tables.
Inmates can work out in the gym, sports hall, and weight room, attend classes and earn qualifications in Long Lartin.
Some of the inmates include Carl Dobson, Vincent Tabak and the older brother of notorious East London gangsters, Reggie and Ronnie Kray.
Carl Dobson
Carl Dobson, better known as Crazy Titch, was a successful grime MC before his incarceration.

Vincent Tabak
Vincent Tabak was an engineer before being sentenced for murder and possession of indecent images of children.
He was born in the Netherlands on February 10, 1978, and moved to the UK in 2007.
He was sentenced to life in prison with a minimum term of 20 years for the murder of Joanna Yeates.
Ben Geen
Ben Geen worked as a nurse and despite his conviction for murdering two patients, has maintained his innocence all these years.
He has appealed his sentence a handful of times, the last appeal was in 2020 which was rejected.
He was convicted of two counts of murder as well as between 15 and 24 counts of grievous bodily harm.
He received a sentence of life in jail with a minimum of 30 years.
Ian Watkins
Ian Watkins is a Welsh singer-songwriter, and musician and was the lead singer of the now-disbanded rock band Lostprophets.
He was convicted of sexual offences, images of child abuse, and possession of a mobile phone while in prison.
There have been many instances of Watkins displaying inappropriate behaviour with minors as early as 2006.
His ex-girlfriend, Joanne Mjadzelics, had filed multiple complaints with South Wales Police after seeing disturbing content from him.
He received a sentence of 29 years after pleading guilty to 13 sexual offence charges.
He was transferred out of Long Lartin to Wakefield prison in 2018.
Archibald Hall
Archibald Hall was a Scottish serial killer and thief.
Born in Glasgow in 1924, he became known as the Killer Butler or the Monster Butler after killing members of the family he butlered for.
He was convicted in courts in London and Edinburgh of four murders and sentenced to life in prison.
In London, it was recommended that he never be released from prison and he never was.
He died in 2002 aged 78 and he was the oldest person serving a life sentence in prison at the time of his death.
Charlie Kray
Charlie was the older brother of notorious gangster twins Ronnie and Reggie Kray.
Charlie was an amateur boxer until he started boxing professionally in his early twenties, winning a number of fights.
Although he did not have the same violent reputation as his brothers, he still played an integral part in the family's crime syndicate.
When the Kray twin's empire came crashing down in 1969, Charlie was dragged down with them.
He received a ten year sentence for being an accessory in the murder of George Cornell.
He was released in 1975 and began to promote the legend of the Kray family to make ends meet.
However, he was sent back to prison in 1997 for attempting to smuggle £39 million of cocaine into Britain.

He served three years of his 12-year sentence before his health began to deteriorate.
He died in 2000 of heart complications, and his surviving brother Reggie was released from prison to attend the funeral.
