‘Blood soaked teenager stumbled into taxi office after being stabbed in mouth’ during town centre brawl
Reports from the scene suggest young man was stabbed with razor blade
A YOUNG man was reportedly stabbed in the mouth as youths brawled in a town centre alleyway.
The blood soaked youth stumbled into a taxi office in Redhill town centre.
A staff member at the taxi rank told Surrey Mirror: "A teenager came in covered in blood. He had blood all down his shirt.
"He had been stabbed in the mouth around the back and asked for a taxi but we couldn't get him one in that state."
The youths sparked a "large-scale public order incident" with police officers still trying to determine how it unfolded.
A Surrey Police spokeswoman said officers were called to Redhill town centre just after 4pm today following reports of a fight involving a "large" group of youths.
She could not confirm reports that one teenager was slashed in the mouth with a razor blade during the incident in the High Street area, and said officers were still on scene taking witness statements.
It came after Surrey Police tweeted shortly before 5.30pm: "Large presence inc helicopter dealing with ongoing incident #Redhill town centre."
Social media users described seeing police vehicles and ambulances outside a McDonald's restaurant in the town centre early on Monday evening, and photographs posted on the Surrey Mirror website appeared to show bloodstains near footpaths.
A National Police Air Service spokeswoman confirmed a helicopter was sent to the scene at 4.20pm but it was not required for long.
Two people were charged with attempted murder earlier this week after a plain clothes cop was 'stabbed in an alley behind an east London pub'.
