BIG-HEARTED Sun readers responded brilliantly after we launched our Smiles At Christmas appeal yesterday.
Bags of goodies were donated at Toys “R” Us and McColl’s stores up and down the country and money pledges started rolling in.
Mum Charleen Kaur, of Dartford, Kent, was among generous readers who left a donation at Toys “R” Us in Old Kent Road, London.
She said: “It’s a brilliant cause. It will make a big difference.”
Energy giant nPower pledged its support and is installing collection bins for its 7,000 staff at regional offices and wind farms in the UK.
A spokesman said: “We are delighted to back The Sun’s terrific campaign this Christmas.”
Strictly hoofer Ed Balls joined the many celebrity supporters of our Smiles At Christmas appeal – alongside Simon Cowell, Barbara Windsor, Olly Murs and Claudia Winkleman.
Ed said: “Christmas is a really important time of year, especially for kids.
