The Tories must rethink our membership of the ECHR, which prevents us from controlling our borders as voters demand
Boat rigging
RWANDA is an entirely safe country to place illegal migrants.
That’s not just The Sun’s view, nor merely that of the Rwandan government, or our own.
It’s the judgment of the United Nations Refugee Agency which places refugees there itself and said only last week they are “thriving”.
It was also the verdict of our High Court and, at the Appeal Court, the Lord Chief Justice Lord Burnett.
He said: “There is no real risk that asylum-seekers will be wrongly returned to countries where they face persecution.”
Rwanda, he said, has no deportation deals with them and, besides, every migrant would be monitored, providing “powerful protection”.

How two fellow judges concluded the precise opposite is a mystery.
They insist politics played no part. But their siding with the Left’s hysterical campaign against Britain’s sole deterrent is a hammer blow to Rishi Sunak, whose only hope of stopping the boats now relies on the Supreme Court.
It is surely fair and logical, though, that left-wing MPs who still pretend all illegal migrants are “refugees” to be welcomed without question should directly face the reality of that position.
Should we not now send all new arrivals exclusively to hotels and private homes in Labour, Lib-Dem and SNP constituencies? Who could object?

Clown court
HOW typical of the obnoxiously self-important MPs who sat in judgment on Boris Johnson to seek to silence their critics.
They have named Tories who had a pop at them, with a view to punishing them. It is grotesque.
The Privileges Committee’s “trial” of the ex-PM was mainly revenge for Brexit and its long suspension of him wildly excessive.
Its first chairman admitted bias and quit. The second, Harriet Harman, had already effectively found Boris guilty on Twitter.
Boris-hating member Bernard Jenkin allegedly broke lockdown himself.
They are wide open to allegations of prejudice and hypocrisy. How utterly sinister to sanction MPs for saying so.
