Family of mum-of-two found dead in lay-by after vanishing from home weep as man appears in court charged with murder

THE family of a mum-of-two who was found dead in a lay-by wept as her accused killer appeared in court today.

Police launched a search for Sarah Henshaw, 31, after she vanished from her home in Ilkeston, Derbyshire, on Friday.

Her body was discovered just after midnight on Monday in a lay-by on the A617 near Chesterfield.

Darren Hall, 36, appeared at Derby Crown Court by video-link today charged with murder.

No plea was entered but a provisional trial date was set for December 4.

Sarah's family wept during the hearing before Hall was remanded into custody to next appear in court on July 27.

Following her tragic death, Sarah's mum Lorraine paid tribute to her first born child, who she said was "a wonderful daughter and sister".

She added: "She was also a fantastic mum to her two girls, who she loved so much.

“Sarah would always put others first and was always incredibly kind.

“As a family we are all devastated by her death.

"We miss her so much and will love her forever.”

Anyone with information has been told to call police on 101 quoting incident number 444 of 23 June.
