Woman raped near pier at popular UK tourist resort as police issue CCTV of wanted man

COPS have released photos of a man they want to speak to after a rape attack in a south Devon seaside resort.

The horror incident took place near a pier in the seaside resort of Paignton on Thursday.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said:"Detectives are investigating a report of a rape that happened in Paignton on Thursday 29 June.

"It was reported to have taken place in the area of the Pier between 10.30pm and 11.30pm.

"Police have released pictures of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the incident.

"The female victim is being supported by specially trained officers.

"Police investigating the incident would like to identify the man pictured as they believe he may be able to assist with their enquiries."

Police ask for anyone with information to contact police on 101 or via the website quoting log 511 of June 30th.

They are also appealing for anyone with dash cam or CCTV footage in the area of Paignton seafront which may help out enquiries.
