Prince William reveals Kate Middleton enjoys colouring books
Kate's hubby tells illustrator Johanna Basford his wife is a fan
THE Duchess of Cambridge enjoys adult colouring books, Prince William has revealed.
Illustrator Johanna Basford was picking up an OBE for services to art and entrepreneurship at Buckingham Palace when Wills told her Kate was a fan.
Adult colouring books, called “colour therapy”, have taken off recently with Johanna’s first book Secret Garden selling more than a million copies.
The author, 33, said: "I think we've just seen the colouring community flourish.
"And Prince William actually said that his wife likes to colour in the Secret Garden, which was really sweet."
Reflecting on the newfound popularity of the hobby, she said: "I think people are just craving a digital detox."
She added that her trip to the palace may give her inspiration for her next book, explaining: "It's set in a castle, funnily enough, so I will definitely try to remember everything.
"I'm sure little snippets of today will feature in the book.
"I love all the really ornate picture frames and all the beautiful sculptures, and the candelabras are just stunning."

The royal, who studied at Cambridge, was visiting the city's Fitzwilliam Museum yesterday with wife Camilla.
He said: "Quite how I survived being run over by a bus when I was on a bicycle just outside here I don't know."

He said: "I've always felt so lucky to be able to study at this university.
"It all went by in a flash and I'm horrified to realise that very shortly, next year in fact, it will be fifty years since I arrived!"

He was awarded a 2:2 in history in June 1970, having switched from archaeology and anthropology after a year.
