Rochdale stabbing victim Natasha Wild lost her brother, sister and baby niece in tragic house fire 11 years ago
A 31-year-old man has been arrested by police and is currently being questioned on suspicion of her murder
A woman who died from stab wounds lost her brother, sister and baby niece in a tragic fire 11 years ago.
Her family described Natasha Wild as "lovely" and "beautiful", after the 23-year-old class assistant was found stabbed and later died.
In June 2005, her brother Alan Wild, nine, Layla Wild, 23, believed to be her step-sister, and Layla’s 11-month-old daughter Courtney Nabb died in a house fire on Albion Street in Rochdale, alongside family friend Cole Ridgway, two.
The blaze was said to have been caused by an electrical fault involving the tumble dryer.
Layla was taken to hospital with 75 per cent burns but never regained consciousness and her life support machine was switched off.
She never knew the fire had claimed the life of baby Courtney.
A 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder after Natasha was discovered on Monday night suffering serious neck wounds in Rochdale, Gtr Manchester - she died later in hospital.
Paying tribute to her, Natasha’s mother said: “Natasha was kind-hearted and clever and was working towards her final year in University.
“This is a tragic waste of life of a lovely and beautiful daughter.”
Natasha’s sister, added: “My sister had a heart of gold.”
Natasha was a former pupil of Matthew Moss High School in Rochdale, and had been working there at the time of her death.
Headteacher Mark Moorhouse said: “It is with much sadness that we receive the terrible news about our friend and colleague, Natasha.
“A fantastic and much-loved member of our school community, both as a pupil and then as a member of the staff team, Natasha will be much missed.
“Our thoughts are with her family at this time.”
Natasha has been described as a "beautiful" and "lovely" girl whose life was taken too soon.
Becky Beglin added: “R.I.P Natasha Wild taken so young absolutely gutted shine bright beautiful.”
Jodie Dinsdale posted: “Such sad news. So harmless and loving. Taken too soon. All my thoughts are with your family. Sleep tight with the angels.”
Amanda Bowker posted on Facebook: “So sad, will miss you so much Natasha Wild, shocked was only laughing with you yesterday, R.I.P sweetheart.”
Tyler Young wrote: “R.I.P baby girl......shines as bright up there as you did down here. Love you girl xxxxxxx.”
Demi Jones said: “The world has lost a lovely girl and heaven gained an angel. Taken far too soon. My thoughts are with everybody affected by this horrible news R.I.P beautiful.”
Police discovered Natasha at an address two miles north of the town centre.
She was found suffering serious neck injuries and taken to hospital, where she later died.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “This is a horrendous incident that has resulted in a young woman having her life taken away from her and a family heartbroken.
“We have a man in custody but our investigation is still very much in the early stages so I am appealing for anyone with information to get in touch with us.
“Natasha’s family are receiving specialist support from a team of officers and my thoughts are with them during these tragic circumstances.”
