FAT CHANCE OF SURVIVAL

Stephen Hawking fears greedy humanity will eat itself to extinction

Doom-monger physicist says piggish people are eating too much and the results could be catastrophic

HUMANITY'S seemingly insatiable greed could be its downfall.

That's the latest warning from physicist and doom-monger Stephen Hawking, who said that obesity poses a major threat to the future of our species.

, he said: "Humanity faces a major challenge and millions of lives are in danger.

"As a cosmologist, I see the world as a whole and I am here to address one of the most serious public health problems of the 21st century.”

The physicist said we "eat too much, and move too little" but insisted the solution is "not rocket science".

His simple prescription involves “more physical activity and a change in diet".

“How being sedentary has become a major health problem is beyond my understanding," he added.

Professor Hawking now spends much of his time warning humanity of its impending doom.

He recently said the human species could be brutally finished off by “rogue” robots which are too strong for us to defeat.

The legendary boffin is one of the most prominent critics of the unrestrained development of artificial intelligence, because he fears super-smart machines could end up turning on their human creators and sending us the way of the dodo.

He also said doomsday space rocks are a threat to humanity and any other intelligent civilisation which may exist in our universe.

, an "global movement" dedicated to protecting our species, Professor Hawking said: "One of the major threats to intelligent life in our universe is the high probability of an asteroid colliding with inhabited planets."
