STAG GAG

Man ‘on stag do’ stopped by cops at British Grand Prix after pals make him wear eco yob T-shirt

The man is seen wearing a bright orange Just Stop Oil T-shirt and black cargo shorts at the world-famous race course.

The stag gag was shared on social media with the caption: “British Grand Prix today.

“It’s this bloke’s stag and his mates have made him wear this.

“Keeps getting stopped by the police.”

The stag joke comes after another group hijacked an eco yob protest by chanting "we love you oil, we do"; and stealing their banner.

Groom Charlie Pearce - a builder and landscape gardener from Surrey - was later unmasked as the pink-clad stag.

The soon-to-be-married dad told MailOnline he and his pals hijacked the march on their way to Ibiza for Charlie's stag do.

He and the group - including Charlie's brother George - then brought the orange banner on a tour of the Spanish party island's clubs.

It comes after Jonny Bairstow carried one of three protesters off the pitch during the second Ashes Test match between England and Australia at Lord's two weeks ago.

A similar scene occurred involving rugby star Tom Curry when the group ran onto the Twickenham turf during the Gallagher Premiership final between Saracens and Sale in May.

But on Sunday the event was uninterrupted - and Max Verstappen won the British Grand Prix with ease.

Lewis Hamilton secured a podium position too.

The British superstar managed to climb from seventh to third by the finish line.

But Verstappen will take all the plaudits once again as he continues Red Bull's dominance at the top of the F1 leaderboards.

A police spokesperson said: "Our officers spoke with and conducted checks on a man and his friends, with no criminal offences identified.

"Matters regarding the group’s attendance were left with our Silverstone partners."
